Chris began her career in real estate in 1987 after working 10 years as a medical technologist at Sparrow Hospital with a degree in Chemistry and Biology. In 1990 she became an Associate Broker to assist Luke Freund (founder/Owner of GTH) with the broker responsibilities of Gateway To Homes and manage the ever growing business of repossessed houses. After receiving her brokers license, Chris went on to get her designations as an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI) and a Leadership Training Graduate (LTG), a Performance Management Networking (PMN) graduate and also became certified as an Internet Professional (E-Pro). In 2001, Chris purchased Gateway to Homes. Currently, she is working on the designation of Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) and Certified REO Specialist (CREO).

Throughout her career, she has been involved with the Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS® serving on many committees. Currently she is on the Board of Directors, Finance and Budget Committee, and Leadership Development Committee, Legislative Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and the Centennial Celebration Task force. As an active member of the Women’s Council of Realtors since 1991, she became their Member of the Year in 1985 and served as the Local Chapter President in 2000, Chair of the State Finance and Budget Committee in 2002 and 2003 and she is now the Senior Governor of the Michigan State Chapter of WCR.

To round out Chris’ days, she stays very active in community services working with the Lansing Civic Players and is an active member St. Michael's Parish in Grand Ledge serving on the Education Committee and as a Eucharistic Minister and as a Liturgical Minister.
